Head-of-Series Modernization — Building the Reference Standard

We fully modernize the first locomotive of the program in Europe.
This unit establishes the technical and operational benchmark for the entire fleet.

During the head-of-series phase we:
List define all mechanical, electrical and electronic upgrade proceduresitem
List itvalidate testing methods, diagnostics and performance standardsem
Listprepare complete documentation (manuals, diagrams, BOM, FAT procedures) item
assemble the full refurbishment kits and tool sets for the clientList item
train the first group of technicians directly on the rebuilt unitList item

The head-of-series locomotive becomes the industrial blueprint used to replicate every subsequent unit at the client’s depot.

Knowledge Transfer, Documentation & On-Site Supervision

Our objective is clear: enable the client to operate with long-term autonomy.

We provide a structured technology-transfer package including:
Complete technical documentation and work instructions for each subsystem
Training programs for mechanics, electricians and operators
Supervision during critical refurbishment phases
Quality assurance, calibration and compliance checks
Preparation of spare-parts kits, tools, diagnostic equipment and standards

This phase ensures that local teams acquire the skills, procedures and confidence needed to manage refurbishment, maintenance and diagnostics independently.

Local Replication — Scalable Refurbishment at Client Depot

Once the head-of-series locomotive is completed, all remaining units are rebuilt directly at the client’s depot using local workforce and our standardized procedures.

We support the client through:
On-site execution of mechanical and electrical upgrades
Step-by-step replication based on the European reference unit
Ongoing supervision by our senior specialists
Optimization of workflow, tooling and quality control
Progressive reduction of foreign support as local autonomy increases

This hybrid model significantly reduces logistics costs, accelerates project timelines and builds sustainable in-country capabilities for future maintenance and overhauls.
